DRAFT – for solicitor review
Last updated: 28 October 2026
The contract between you and Power Backup UK, including orders, pricing, delivery, returns and your statutory rights.
About these terms
These terms apply to purchases from Power Backup UK through this website or by email. Please read them before ordering. If anything is unclear, contact us before you buy.
Power Backup UK trades from Unit 29, Skylines Village, London, E14 9TS, United Kingdom.
Information before you order
We present the main product characteristics, compatibility information, price including VAT and delivery charges before you place an order. Images are for illustration. Check dimensions, voltage, plugs, output, capacity and any requirement for professional installation.
If we know that information is incomplete or requires supplier confirmation, we will identify it rather than presenting an assumption as fact.
Your order and our acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. An automated acknowledgement is not acceptance. We accept when we send an order confirmation or dispatch the goods, whichever comes first.
We may decline an order for stock, pricing, payment, delivery or product-safety reasons. If we cannot accept it, we will tell you and refund any payment already taken without undue delay.
Prices, VAT and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable. Delivery is free to eligible UK destinations. Any additional charge that applies will be shown before you commit to buy.
Payment must be authorised before dispatch. Available methods are shown at checkout. We do not store full card details on our servers.
Delivery, risk and title
Orders are processed and dispatched within 1-2 working days, then delivered within 3-5 working days. These are estimates, not guaranteed dates. See our Delivery Policy for remote areas, lithium batteries and generators.
Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or your nominated safe place. Ownership passes when we receive full payment, subject to your statutory rights.
Returns, faults and warranties
Our voluntary policy provides free returns within 30 days of delivery. Your statutory cancellation and faulty-goods rights are not reduced. Product-specific warranty terms are shown where available.
See Returns & Refunds and Warranty Policy.
Safety and installation
Follow the manufacturer instructions and ratings. Do not modify, open, puncture, immerse or expose electrical equipment to unsafe conditions. Fixed wiring and whole-home connections require a qualified electrician.
Fuel generators must only operate outdoors, away from doors, windows and other openings. Read our Generator Safety Notice.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or for business losses such as lost profit, revenue, contracts or data, where lawful. This does not affect your rights as a consumer.
Changes, intellectual property and privacy
Website content, branding and original materials may not be reproduced for commercial use without permission. Manufacturer materials remain the property of their respective owners.
We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may update these terms for legal or operational reasons; the version accepted at the time of your order applies to that order.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have to bring proceedings in another part of the UK.
Contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. You may also use an approved alternative dispute resolution provider where applicable.
Definitions and contract roles
“You” and “your” refer to the person or organisation placing an order. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to Power Backup UK. “Goods” means the products supplied, and “working day” means Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays.
“Manufacturer” means the company that designs or produces the goods. Unless we expressly state otherwise, we are the retailer and not the manufacturer, installer, electricity network operator or carrier.
Product advice and your responsibility to check suitability
We can explain capacity, output, charging and compatibility in general terms. Advice is based on the information you provide and is not a substitute for an electrician, structural assessment, medical professional or manufacturer confirmation.
You are responsible for checking appliance running and starting loads, voltage, frequency, plugs, installation environment and any medical or safety-critical requirement before ordering. We will not knowingly recommend an incompatible setup.
Technical specifications and supplier changes
Specifications, included accessories and manufacturer packaging can change. If a material difference affects your order, we will tell you before dispatch and offer the choice to accept the revised item or cancel for a full refund.
Runtime figures are estimates. Battery age, inverter efficiency, appliance cycling, temperature, solar conditions and load variation will affect actual results.
Stock, backorders and partial dispatch
Stock information is updated from our catalogue and is intended to be accurate, not a guarantee of future availability. If stock becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you and offer a substitute, a revised dispatch arrangement or a full refund.
Orders containing several items may arrive in separate packages or from different logistics partners. This does not change the total delivery charge.
Our right to refuse or cancel an order
We may refuse or cancel an order for inaccurate pricing, unavailable stock, failed payment authorisation, suspected fraud, delivery restrictions, unsafe installation requests or legal/export restrictions. We will explain the reason where lawful and refund any payment taken.
We will not cancel for a reason that discriminates against you or breaches our legal obligations.
Business purchases
If you buy mainly for business purposes, different rules may apply to returns, liability and delivery estimates. Statutory consumer protections that cannot be excluded remain unaffected.
You are responsible for ensuring that business use, installation, maintenance and insurance arrangements are suitable. Trade customers should agree compatibility and delivery requirements in writing before ordering.
Installation, maintenance and safe use
You must follow manufacturer instructions, keep equipment within environmental ratings and arrange any required inspection and maintenance. Whole-home systems must not be connected to fixed wiring by an unqualified person.
Do not use a product after visible damage, liquid ingress, swelling, smoke, unusual heat, repeated fault codes or any other unsafe condition. Contact us and the emergency services where appropriate.
Ownership of digital services and accounts
Apps, cloud services, firmware and connectivity are supplied by the relevant provider and may change or be withdrawn. We do not control their availability, data hosting or continuing compatibility.
Keep your account credentials secure and disconnect equipment before returning it. We cannot recover manufacturer account passwords or cloud data for you.
External links and third-party services
Links to manufacturers, carriers, payment providers and public authorities are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party availability, content or changes, and they do not create a partnership or agency relationship.
Your use of a third-party service is subject to its own terms and privacy notices.
Notices, communications and record keeping
Important notices may be sent to the email or postal address supplied with your order. Keep your contact details current and retain order confirmations, warranty records and return tracking.
We will use English for contract communications unless we agree otherwise with you.
Severability, waiver and assignment
If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in force. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of that right.
You may not transfer the contract without our consent. We may use subcontractors for fulfilment, delivery, payment processing and support while remaining responsible for our contractual obligations.
Third-party rights and entire agreement
Only you and we have rights under this contract, although consumer law may give others rights in specific circumstances. No third party may enforce it under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 except where applicable.
The contract includes these terms, your accepted order and the documents linked from it. Nothing said by an agent can create a binding variation unless confirmed in writing by an authorised representative.
