Carbon monoxide can kill
Never use a petrol, diesel or gas generator indoors, in a garage, tent, vehicle or near doors and windows. Use outdoors only, far from openings and sheltered only with a manufacturer-approved outdoor setup.
Install a carbon monoxide alarm where appropriate. Switch off and cool a generator before refuelling. Store fuel safely and legally. Use a qualified electrician for any connection to fixed home wiring.
