DRAFT – for solicitor review
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Our accessibility commitment, the features built into this shop, current limitations and how to request assistance.
Our commitment
We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We want customers to be able to browse products, compare options, complete forms and place orders using their preferred device and assistive technology.
We review keyboard use, visible focus, colour contrast, responsive layouts, labels, errors and reduced-motion behaviour.
Accessibility features
- Skip-to-content link and logical heading structure.
- Keyboard-operable menus, filters, quiz, calculators, gallery and dialogs.
- Visible focus indicators and touch-friendly controls.
- Text alternatives for product images and labelled form fields.
- Responsive layouts, a consistent white theme and reduced-motion preferences.
- Clear delivery, returns, stock and error messaging without relying on colour alone.
Known limitations
Some supplier documents, payment interfaces, carrier tracking and third-party content may be outside our direct control. Older PDFs or manufacturer manuals may not be fully accessible.
We will provide essential information in an alternative format on request. Please tell us which product or page you need and the format that would help.
Feedback and assistance
If you cannot use part of the shop, contact us with the page URL, a description of the problem and, if helpful, your browser, device or assistive technology. We can provide product information and ordering support by email.
We will consider the issue and respond by email.
Review and enforcement
This statement will be updated as the shop changes and as accessibility issues are identified and fixed. We welcome an independent accessibility review before broader launch.
If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission or the Equality Advisory and Support Service for guidance.
Scope of this statement
This statement applies to the public storefront, product and category pages, calculators, basket, native checkout, account and support content. It does not cover manufacturer websites, payment-provider interfaces, carrier systems or downloadable documents controlled by others.
Those providers are responsible for their own accessibility statements.
Technical approach
The shop uses semantic HTML, responsive CSS, native buttons and forms, labelled controls, alternative text and lightweight JavaScript. It is designed to work without a mouse and without requiring animation, hover or precise gestures.
We support current browser accessibility features and avoid forcing a particular zoom level, orientation or input method.
Keyboard and assistive technology use
Navigation, search, filters, product options, calculators, wishlists, comparison, dialogs and checkout are intended to be reachable using a keyboard alone. Focus is kept visible, and dialogs should have a clear close action.
Screen readers should receive names, states and error messages for interactive controls. Dynamic updates use status regions where appropriate.
Visual presentation and motion
Text and interactive states are checked for WCAG AA contrast. Layouts reflow at mobile, tablet and desktop widths, and touch targets are designed to be at least 44 pixels where practical.
We respect reduced-motion preferences and use a consistent white palette on every device. No essential information is conveyed only by animation, colour, sound or hover.
Testing and review process
We use automated accessibility checks alongside manual keyboard and responsive review. Representative home, category, simple-product, variable-product, legal and checkout pages are tested for errors, overflow, labels, names and contrast.
Automated tools cannot find every issue. Feedback from customers and manual testing remains important.
Documents and alternative formats
We can provide product specifications, delivery information, return instructions and legal content in a more accessible format on request. Manufacturer manuals may be supplied in formats we do not control.
Tell us the product, information required and preferred format, such as plain text, large print, screen-reader-friendly HTML or email support.
Compatibility and older technology
Modern browser features are used where they improve speed and usability, with normal-page fallbacks for unsupported features. Very old browsers, unusual zoom levels or highly customised settings may produce different results.
Contact us if your setup prevents access and we will help you find an alternative way to obtain information or order.
Reporting a problem
Include the page URL, the task you were trying to complete, what happened and any assistive technology you use. Screenshots are helpful but not required.
We will acknowledge the issue, investigate, explain the next step and keep you informed by email.
Ongoing monitoring and procurement
Accessibility is considered when choosing plugins, payment services, carriers and content providers. New features should be reviewed for keyboard access, contrast, labels, errors, mobile use and reduced motion before release.
We will not knowingly introduce a feature that makes checkout inaccessible.
Formal review and future updates
We recommend an independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit before broad promotion. Issues will be prioritised by their effect on shopping, ordering and essential information.
This statement will be updated after material changes, confirmed limitations and completed remediation.
